After creating and publishing products, setting up shipping rates is essential. You want to price competitively without overcharging customers or losing money on delivery.
These are the prices your customers pay you for shipping. Branvas charges a flat rate of $8.99 per order to both US and international destinations. You can choose to:
Match Branvas pricing – charge customers $8.99 and break even on shipping
Charge more – set rates higher than $8.99 to profit on shipping
Charge less or offer free shipping – a great marketing strategy (you cover the difference)
How do set up shipping rates in Shopify?
In your Shopify dashboard, go to Settings → Shipping and Delivery
Next to General Shipping Rates, click ">" to manage rates
Scroll to the Branvas location section
You'll see the current shipping rate already set up. If you're happy with the $8.99 flat rate, you don't need to do anything.
Set up free shipping
To offer free shipping to your customers:
Click "Edit rate" on the shipping rate
Change the price to $0.00
Click "Done" to save
Remember: You still pay Branvas $8.99 per order. Make sure your product prices cover this cost.
Set up conditional shipping
Want to offer free shipping for orders over a certain amount? Here's how to set it up:
Example: Free shipping for orders over $50
Click "Edit rate" on your existing shipping rate
Click "Add conditional pricing"
Select "Based on order price"
Enter your minimum price for free shipping (e.g., $50.00)
Set the shipping price to $0.00
Click "Done"
Now set up the rate for smaller orders:
Click "Add rate"
Enter your shipping price for small orders (e.g., $8.99)
Select "Based on order price"
Enter the maximum order value (e.g., $49.99)
Click "Done"
Your conditional shipping is now active. Customers with orders over $50 get free shipping, while smaller orders pay your set rate.
Set up additional shipping zone
Need to add more countries or regions?
Under the Branvas location section, click "Add shipping zone"
Name your zone and select the countries/regions
Important: You can only set up shipping for countries that are already added to your Markets. If a country isn't appearing in your shipping zone options, go to Settings → Markets in Shopify and add the country first, then return to set up your shipping rates.
Click "Done"
Add your shipping rates for this new zone
What happens after I set up my rates?
Once your shipping rates are configured:
Customers see these rates at checkout
When they place an order, you pay Branvas $8.99 for shipping
The difference between what the customer paid and what you pay is your profit or cost
Can I change my shipping rates later?
Yes. You can update shipping rates anytime in your Shopify settings. Changes apply immediately to new orders. If you adjust rates, review your product pricing to ensure you're covering costs.
